A method of distributing through a communications network enciphering keys for a secure communications session via said network between first and second terminals (2a, 2b) corresponding first and second terminal keys (Ka, Kb) comprising: storing said first and second terminal keys (Ka, Kb) remotely to said terminals (2a, 2b); providing a number (RAND); generating first and second corresponding partial keys (Kpa, Kpb) each comprising a corresponding function of said number (RAND) and a corresponding one of said terminal keys (Ka, Kb); and dispatching the first partial key (Ka) towards the second terminal (2b), and vice-versa.

L'invention est une méthode de distribution de clés de chiffrement via un réseau de communication pour établir une séance de communication protégée, via ledit réseau, entre un premier et un second terminal (2a, 2b) correspondant à une première et à une seconde clés de terminal (Ka, Kb), cette méthode étant constituée des opérations suivantes : stockage desdites premières et secondes clés de terminal (Ka, Kb) à distance dans lesdits terminaux (2a, 2b), production d'un nombre aléatoire, production d'une première et d'une seconde clés partielles correspondantes (Kpa, Kpb) comportant chacune une fonction correspondante dudit nombre aléatoire et une clé de terminal (Ka, Kb) correspondante, et transmission de la première clé partielle (Ka) vers le second terminal (2b) et vice versa.
