A secure e-commerce authorization system includes a transaction receiver, an authorization processor in communication with the transaction receiver, and an authorization transmitter in communication with authorization processor. The transaction receiver is configured to receive from a transaction terminal a transaction identifier for authorization of a proposed transaction. The transaction identifier is generated at the transaction terminal and is uniquely associated with the proposed transaction. The authorization processor is configured to determine the authenticity of the received transaction identifier. The authorization transmitter is configured to provide an authorization signal for the proposed transaction, with the authorization signal being determined in accordance with the determined authenticity.
