ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tarpaulin securement member is disclosed for securing a tarpaulin sheet to a supporting rod. The member comprises a base member integral with a concave seat, a top plate being fixedly secured to the base plate member and sandwiching the tarpaulin therebetween. In the preferred embodiment, the top plate member is provided with a cavity or recess which facilitates the threading of strap fasteners between the tarpaulin and the base mamber, the strap members being preferred as clamping means for securement of the seat section of the base member to a supporting rod. In another preferred embodiment the base member is cast from malleable material as an integral single-piece unit inclusive protrusions having the shape of rivet stems. The invention simplifies the manufacture while reducing susceptibility of the tar- paulin to leak at its joints with the supporting rod. By the same token, the securement is strong and reliable in operation.
