The invention relates to a method of managing data intended to be written several times into a memory organized in sectors, each requiring complete erasure in order to allow a new write operation in the sector. To secure the erasure of this type of memory, the method consists in ordering the sectors of the memory and in reserving, for each sector, a header zone intended to receive a first word indicating that latest erasure of the sector was carried out correctly and a second word indicating that an erasure procedure for the preceding sector is in process.
