A security device for attachment to a pair of parking meters mounted on a post with a gap between the parking meters blocks access to the gap to prevent insertion of a lever into the gap. The security device has a pair of connector members in retaining engagement with gap blocking members for securing the latter in gap blocking positions, with a lock for releasably connecting the connector members. One of the gap blocking members has verticallyconvergent side surfaces engaging correspondingly inclined sides of the parking meters to prevent upward removal of the security device from the parking meters.
