- 1 - Abstract: A guard means is described for securing a door locked to a door frame by a dead bolt to prevent forceable entry, the dead bolt being mounted in the door for projection from the door edge and being adapted to lock the door by projecting through a hole in a strike plate mounted on the door frame and into a bolt tunnel extending into the door frame. The novel guard means includes a frame guard having a first plate member for the outside of the door frame, this first plate member having a pair of spaced threaded sleeves projecting from the inner face thereof and adapted to enter into holes extending through the door frame above and below the bolt tunnel perpendicular to the axis thereof. A second plate member having a pair of spaced holes is provided for the inside of the door frame. Bolts are passed through the second plate member holes, through the frame holes and into the threaded sleeves and serve to firmly clamp the frame between the first and second plate members. A similar pair of plates are pro- vided on the door mounted by way of holes extending through the door above and below the dead bolt. This combination of plates around the dead bolt in the door and the bolt tunnel in the door frame make forced entry almost impossible.
