ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The security A.C. outlet comprises a pair of contact members connectable to current supply wires, and a rotatable receptacle element provided with two apertures in which the blades of the plug of an electric appliance can be inserted. This receptacle element is rotatable between (a) a first position in which the blades of the plug can be inserted into the apertures without contacting the contact members, and (b) a second position in which the blades, inserted into the apertures, contact theses contact members. A first mechanism locks the receptacle element in its first position, but unlocks it upon insertion of the blades in the apertures. A second mechanism includes a blocking pin. As soon as the receptacle element is rotated from its first position toward its second position, this pin is pushed into the hole of one blade in order to block the plug in the A.C. outlet and prevent withdrawal thereof until the receptacle element is rotated back to its first position.
