The invention relates to a security element (2) for security papers, banknotes (1), identity cards or the like. Said security element comprises at least one plastic layer on which at least two metal layers (3, 4) having different colors are disposed side by side and on the same side of the plastic layer in such a manner that the different colors can be visually examined.
