A security system and lock having particular application to venues with many gaming machines. The system allows the locks on any or all of the gaming machines to be electronically unlocked from a central controller. The individual locks may also have an electronic reader responsive to electronic/magnetic keys so that individual machines can be unlocked and the identity of the keyholder recorded. The lock structure is such that the solenoid 10 may be relatively small and need only be energised briefly in order to unlock the lock. Furthermore, the lock remains unlocked until the door has been opened and re-closed.

L'invention concerne un système de sécurité et une serrure destinés en particulier à des lieux comprenant de nombreuses machines de jeux. Le système selon l'invention permet de déverrouiller électroniquement les serrures sur n'importe laquelle ou sur toutes les machines à partir d'un contrôleur central. Les serrures individuelles peuvent également comporter un lecteur électronique réagissant à des clés électroniques/magnétiques de sorte que des machines individuelles puissent être déverrouillées et que l'identité du détenteur de la clé soit enregistrée. La structure des serrures est telle que le solénoïde (10) présente des dimensions relativement réduites et nécessite une alimentation particulièrement faible pour déverrouiller la serrure. Par ailleurs, la serrure reste déverrouillée tant que la porte n'a pas été ouverte et refermée.
