ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION There is provided a new and useful security system for confining a person or object within a designated area and comprising an electrically operated door restraining device to be installed on at least one door; an electronic detection device to be installed on at least the designated area side of the door and adjacent the door which activates the door restraining device responsive to detected signals to restrain the door in the closed position; and a remote generating device associated with the person or object for continuously generating the signals.
