An inoculant pack having at least one porous wall, and housing a particulate material containing microbes. In use, a liquid permeates through the pack walls such that microbes are transferred from the particulate material, such that a liquid inoculant is formed. The inoculant pack may be provided within an inoculation apparatus, such that liquid inoculant is then supplied in a controlled manner to agricultural seed material.
