ABSTRACT A seeding planting arrangement/adapted to handle seedlings grown in suitable support means whereby the seedlings are correctly planted in a field planting position, the arrangement comprising means for indexing the seedling support means in sequence past a transfer mechanism, the transfer mechanism ejecting the seedlings and transferring same to handling device comprising rotatable members, a first one of the rotatable members holding the seedlings by their root sections with the second of the rotatble members being adapted to receive the seedlings from the first rotatable member and hold same by their foliage regions, the second rotatable member releasing the seedlings into a prepared planting position formed by a plough shoe or the like.
