ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides an end closure for an explosives shell and an explosive package, both of which are useful for seismic explosives. The end closure comprises a rigid substantially flat plastic disk connected at its periphery, with a water-tight joint, to a thin walled female screw threaded plastic tube, said tube being adapted to engage with an open end of an explosives shell. The explosive package contains a plastic component comprising a tube having a male threaded portion at one end and having a capwell at said end, said capwell being situated coaxially within the tube, said capwell having an annular cap sensitive explosive disposed about the capwell, along substantially the whole length of the capwell, said annular explosive having a diameter less than the smallest diameter across the inside of said threaded portion.
