Abstract In a preferred embodiment, the accelerometer comprises a hollow cylindrical housing that includes an inner chamber closed at each end by a flexible wall. A volume of fluid within the inner chamber between the flexible walls defines an inertia mass. The flexible walls define transducers responsive to pressures of the fluid mass due to acceleration forces. A pair of transducer signals are thereby provided that are selectively combined to provide the separate components of the acceleration forces.
