- 5 - TITLE SELECTABLE PRIME MOVER FOR A MARINE FINAL DRIVE APPLICANT DALE K. LOVELL INVENTOR Dale K. LOVELL ABSTRACT In marine final drives, particularly for outboards, and inboard/outboard environments, disclosed is an electrical prime mover , which in the preferred embodiment, is an electric motor connected directly through a gear box contained in the final drive, to the propeller drive shaft. When the internal combustion is not operative, the electrical motor can be energized to rotate the propeller slowly, and hence provide a slow rotation of the propeller convenient for trolling.
