"SELECTIVE AMMONIACAL PRESSURE LEACHING PROCESS" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is disclosed for the recovery of metal values from copper-, silver- and selenium-containing material, such as copper refinery anode slimes and noble metal concentrates, which includes initially subjecting the material in finely divided form to oxidative pressure leaching in aqueous ammoniacal solution at a temperature and for a sufficient period of time until the resulting leach solution contains a major portion of the copper and selenium contents of the material, the reaction conditions being insufficient to dissolve a major portion of the silver present. The process facilitates treatment of complex materials since the leach solution and residue can separately be subjected to any suitable combination of downstream processing steps to recycle reagents and to recover separated metal values in a highly efficient manner.
