A catalyst composition comprising an inorganic support material, a palladium component, a silver component, and a promotor component having the formula XYFn, wherein X is an alkaline metal, Y is an element selected from the group consisting an antimony, phosphorus, boron. Aluminum, gallium, indium, thallium, and arsenic, and n is an integer which makes YFn a monovalent anion. The above-described catalyst is employed as a catalyst in the selective hydrogenation of acetylene. The above-described catalyst is made by incorporating a palladium component, a silver component, and a promoter component into an inorganic support material.
L'invention concerne une composition de catalyseur comprenant une matière de support inorganique, un composant palladium, un composant argent et un composant promoteur représenté par la formule XYF¿n?, dans laquelle X représente un métal alcalin, Y représente un élément sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant l'antimoine, le phosphore, le bore, l'aluminium, le gallium, l'indium, le thallium, et l'arsenic, et n est un nombre entier faisant de YF¿n? un anion monovalent. Le catalyseur décrit est utilisé comme catalyseur dans l'hydrogénation sélective de l'acétylène. On prépare ce catalyseur en incorporant un composant de palladium, un composant d'argent et un composant promoteur dans une matière de support inorganique.
