Selector valve Abstract A valve spool of a selector valve is selectively movable between a multiplicity of operating positions for controlling fluid flow from an inlet port to a plurality of signal ports and from the signal ports to a drain port. At some of the operating positions of the valve spool, communication is established between the inlet port and one or more of the signal ports and between the other signal ports and the drain port through arcuate pockets in the spool instead of annular grooves normally associated with linear movable spools. The use of the arcuate pockets and angular spacing of the signal ports permits the travel distance of the spool to be relatively short while maintaining the multiplicity of operating positions.
