ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for applying adhesive labels to articles whereby labels continuously joined to each other and having adhesive on one side are fed continuously to the nip of two co-operating and continuously rotating rollers which act as a severing station to sever the labels in sequence. The cut labels are then held to the first roller by applying a vacuum through the circumference of said roller, and transported by the first roller to an appli- cation station whereby the labels are pressed onto articles.
