A resilient annular bearing position- able around a rotating shaft (12) which self- adjustingly stabilizes the shaft (12) with re- spect to a sleeve in which the shaft rotates. The bearing has opposite undulating surfaces, made up of a series of alternating peaks (86) and valleys (88), which provide resiliency. The opposite undulating surfaces extend ra- dially, axially or obliquely to provide radial or axial stabilization or both. The peaks may be plateaued (96) or shaped like a truncated pyramid.

Un palier annulaire élastique peut être positionné autour d'un arbre tournant (12) pour stabiliser automatiquement l'arbre (12) par rapport au manchon dans lequel tourne l'arbre. Le palier a des surfaces opposées ondulées comprenant une série de pics (86) alternant avec des vallées (88) lui confèrant une élasticité. Les surfaces ondulées opposées s'étendent radialement, axialement ou obliquement pour assurer une stabilisation radiale, axiale ou les deux. Les pics peuvent avoir un plateau (96) ou avoir la forme de pyramides tronquées.
