Abstract BASIS FOR THE INVENTION: A suspended steel monorail designed to support a vehicle that travels at high speed must remain per- fectly horizontal at all times. The daily variations in temperatures would produce sag that would render the system useless. In order to be a viable support, a suspended monorail must have a "self adjusting thermal expansion compensation system."
