A three sided toothbrush having a handle with three brush heads for engaging the sides and ends of the teeth and portions of the gums. The brush heads have elongated arms which are independently mounted to the handle to allow each brush head to independently adjust to the teeth and gums. The side brush heads are desirably positioned at predetermined angles to the teeth and have longer bristles for enhanced cleaning and gum stimulation. The method of manufacture of the toothbrush includes molding the handle and three brush heads in a first plane, attaching tufts of bristles to the brush heads, cutting the bristles to a desired length, and connecting the elongated arms of each brush head to a common point on the handle to form a three sided brush with the bristles being spaced apart from each other and the heads being movable independently of each other.
