Abstract The present invention relates to an electrical connector. The connector is comprised of a female coupler having a longitudinal axis, a threaded socket on the axis and a pin socket extending parallel to the axis. An open-ended cylindrical standpipe is attached to the female coupler and extends axially therefrom. The open end of the standpipe has a rim which forms a cam which slopes to a slot in the standpipe that extends axially toward the female coupler. A male coupler is provided which has a longitudinal bore along a coupler axis and a pin which extends from the male coupler parallel to the coupler axis. A cam follower extends radially outward from the male coupler. The cam follower follows the cam during connection of the couplers, thereby rotating the male coupler about the coupler axis so that the cam follower engages the slot to align and engage the pin with the pin socket. A jackscrew is provided which extends through the bore for engaging the threaded socket to connect the couplers.
