A self-attaching fastener which may be formed by cold heading having a body including generally arcuate side faces and planar end faces, a central tubular pilot having a planar annular end face, a primary bearing surface surrounding the pilot and arcuate flanges extending from the side faces having planar surfaces spaced below the pilot end face, wherein one or both faces of the pilot and the flange portions facing the pilot are inclined. In one embodiment, the arcuate flange portions each comprise arcuate segments, preferably having inclined opposed surfaces, or the arcuate flanges may be continuous including an arcuate conical midportion and linear inclined side portions. Antirotation tabs may be integrally struck from either the pilot or the flanges.
L'invention se rapporte à une attache auto-fixante qui peut être formée par matriçage à froid et est dotée d'un corps comprenant généralement des faces latérales arquées et des faces d'extrémité planes, un pilote tubulaire central muni d'une face d'extrémité annulaire, une surface portante primaire qui entoure le pilote et des rebords arquée qui s'étendent depuis les faces latérales dont les surfaces planes sont espacées en-dessous de la face d'extrémité du pilote, au moins une face du pilote et les parties des rebords faisant face au pilote étant inclinées. Dans un mode de réalisation selon l'invention, les parties des rebords arqués comprennent chacune des segments arqués, de préférence dotés de surfaces opposées inclinées, ou bien les rebords arqués peuvent être continus et comporter une partie moyenne conique arquée et des parties latérales inclinées et linéaires. Des plaquettes anti-rotation peuvent être entièrement découpées dans le pilote ou dans les rebords.
