ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A self-balancing hinge, particularly for covers of freezers or other cabinets of furniture, comprising a first part intended to be secured to the stationary body of the cabinet, a second part pivoted to said first part and intended to be secured to the cover, a control rod and a helical spring about said rod, reacting between two bonding elements. A resilient means is interposed between one of said bonding elements and the corresponding end of the spring.
