This self-centering device for cylindrical elements such as filters, coalescers and separators having a central axis and adapted for placement with an open end over and in communication with an aperture with a rod extending from its center incorporates or includes a notched member having an open side adapted for lateral capture of the rod along with a holding structure for holding the notched member in position proximate the central axis. The holding structure includes a connector for connection of the self-centering element to the cylindrical element, and a dividing member adapted to divide the open end of the cylindrical element into portions in communication with the open side and portions not in communication with the open side. The connector can advantageously take the form of a member attached to the cylindrical element proximate the open end, a member attached to a rim of the cylindrical element proximate said open end, and/or a member forming a portion of the rim attached to the cylindrical element proximate said open end.
Le dispositif à centrage automatique selon la présente invention est destiné à des éléments cylindriques tels que des filtres, des coalesceurs et des séparateurs dotés dun axe central et conçus pour être placés avec une extrémité ouverte sur une ouverture et en communication avec celle-ci, une tige sétendant à partir de son centre. Ce dispositif incorpore ou inclut un élément à encoche doté dun côté ouvert adapté pour une capture latérale de la tige avec une structure de retenue permettant de maintenir lélément à encoche en place à proximité de laxe central. La structure de retenue inclut un connecteur permettant de connecter lélément à centrage automatique à lélément cylindrique et un élément de séparation adapté pour diviser lextrémité ouverte de lélément cylindrique en parties en communication avec le côté ouvert et en parties qui ne sont pas en communication avec le côté ouvert. Le connecteur peut avantageusement prendre la forme dun élément attaché à lélément cylindrique situé à proximité de lextrémité ouverte, dun élément attaché à un bord de lélément cylindrique situé à proximité de ladite extrémité ouverte et/ou dun élément formant une partie du bord attaché à lélément cylindrique situé à proximité de lextrémité ouverte.
