Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to a self-cinching lifting sling and a method for manufacturing said sling. The lifting sling is assembled of endless metal wire rings, whose number is determined by the weight of a load to be lifted. The lifting sling is made self- cinching so that the metal wire rings are bent into two part loops of different sizes, of which the smaller one is located within the larger one. The rings so treated are thereafter tied into a bundle. The smaller part loop is disposed around the load and the load is lifted from the larger part loop, whereby the smaller part loop is tightly cinched around the load. (Figure 4)
