ABSTRACT SELF-CLOSING VALVES A self-closing valve comprises an outer annulus (82) provided with a seating face (94). A sealing body (100) is supported with respect to the seating face (94) by flexible straps (116). The resilience of the straps (116) biases the sealing body (100) into contact with the seating face (94). The valve can be opened by operation of an actuating pin (104) to displace the sealing body (100) away from the seating face (94) against the resilience of the straps (116).
