An automated system (2) for providing a continuous yield of fresh agricultural produce, the system (2) comprising a housing (6) including a three dimensional seeding and germination zone (8), a three dimensional planting and growth zone (24) and a three dimensional zone (40) for holding automatic seeding, planting and harvesting equipment; a plurality of seeding shelves (62) being arranged in substantially horizontal layers in the three dimensional seeding and germination zone (8), each of the seeding shelves (62) including a two dimensional array of seeding locations (28), each of the locations (28) being for accepting seeds and for supporting the development of a seedling; a plurality of planting shelves (64) being arranged in horizontal layers in the three dimensional planting and growth zone (24), each of the planting shelves (64) including a two dimensional array of planting locations (30), each of the locations for accepting a planting and harvesting robotic device (16) being at the three dimensional zone (40) for holding automatic seeding, planting and harvesting equipment, the robotic device (16) including at least one robotic arm (44 or 46) for seeding seeds being stored in a seed reservoir (4) in the seeding locations (28), for planting seedlings in the planting locations (30) and for harvesting mature plants from the planting locations (30).

L'invention concerne un système automatisé (2) permettant la production en continu de produits agricoles frais. Ledit système (2) comprend un logement (6) renfermant une zone (8) tridimensionnelle d'ensemencement et de germination, une zone (24) tridimensionnelle de plantation et de culture et une zone (40) tridimensionnelle destinée à renfermer le matériel d'ensemencement, de plantation et de récolte automatique ; une pluralité d'étagères (62) d'ensemencement disposées en couches sensiblement horizontales à l'intérieur de la zone (8) tridimensionnelle d'ensemencement et de germination, chacune des étagères (62) d'ensemencement comportant un ensemble bidimensionnel d'emplacements (28) d'ensemencement, chacun de ces emplacements (28) étant destiné à recevoir des graines et à supporter le développement d'un semis ; une pluralité d'étagères (64) de plantation disposées en couches horizontales à l'intérieur de la zone (24) tridimensionnelle de plantation et de culture, chacune des étagères (64) de plantation comportant un ensemble bidimensionnel d'emplacements (30) de plantation, chacun de ces emplacements étant destiné à recevoir un dispositif robotisé (16) de plantation et de récolte placé à l'intérieur de la zone tridimensionnelle (40) pour renfermer le matériel d'ensemencement, de plantation et de récolte automatique, ledit dispositif robotisé (16) comprenant au moins un bras robotisé (44 ou 46) servant à semer les graines stockées dans un réservoir (4) à graines dans les emplacements (28) d'ensemencement, à planter les semis dans les emplacements (30) de plantation et à récolter les végétaux adultes dans les emplacements (30) de plantation.
