A pair of chopsticks which are integrated and self-guiding comprises a resilient element connecting the chopsticks at an intermediate point along the shafts, and a guide member disposed between the resilient element and the grasping tips. The resilient element biases the chopsticks to an open position, and when a radial force is applied to the chopsticks to overcome the biasing force of the resilient element, the grasping tips are brought together to grasp food. In the preferred embodiment the resilient member is generally "Z" shaped, and the grasping tips of the chopsticks are slightly recessed from their respective shafts and provided with a plurality of teeth which resist dislodgement of the food from the tips.
