A self aligning sole for use in shoes, especially sports shoes of welted construction. The outer sole (70) has a shaped raised portion (74). The mid- sole (50) has a cutout (52) with a shape complementary to the raised portion (74) shape. During assembly of the shoe, the outer sole raised portion (74) registers with the mid-sole cutout (52), thereby aligning the outer sole (70) with the mid-sole (50).

La semelle extérieure (70) présente une portion supérieure de forme protubérante (74). La semelle intermédiaire (50) présente une découpe (52) de forme complémentaire à la forme protubérante (74).
