Dental composition including a self-lubricating abrasion resistant material. The dental composition is used to form dental products having an outer surface with a low kinetic coefficient of friction. The dental products formed are abrasion resistant and self-lubricating across their entire cross sections. The self-lubricating material preferably includes polyethylene particles having a molecular weight of at least 1,000,000, and a particle size less than 80 microns and/or silicon containing compounds. The composition is formed into a dental prosthesis, artificial tooth, inlay, onlay, facing, crown or bridge.
