Method of forming a sealed joint between a nut (20) having a cylindrical pilot (22), an annular flange portion (28) surrounding the pilot and an re-entrant groove (32) and a panel with a die having an annular lip (62) which deforms a panel portion into the groove (32) and simultaneously shaves an outer surface of the pilot onto the panel. The annular groove in the flange portion includes an arcuately inclined outer side wall (36) and an inner side wall (38) arcuately inclined toward the flange portion.

L'invention concerne un procécé de formation d'un joint étanche entre un écrou (20) présentant un pilote cylindrique (22) ; une partie de rebord annulaire (28) entourant le pilote et une rainure rentrante (32), et un panneau doté d'une matrice présentant une lèvre annulaire (62) déformant une partie du panneau pour former la rainure (32), et rasant simultanément une surface extérieure du pilote sur le panneau. La rainure annulaire de la partie de rebord comprend une paroi latérale extérieure (36) inclinée en arc et une paroi latérale intérieure (38) inclinée en arc vers la partie de rebord.
