A zero stand-off tool (10) and system for driving a powered fastener (100) into a target work surface (c). A tool (10) is provided having a reciprocable firing pin (44) for detonating a power charge (118) in a powered fastener (100) is provided having a receptacle end (104) in which a nitrocellulose composition charge (118) is mounted. The receptacle end (104) has a cylindrical portion (114) and a conical portion (112). The cooperation of the target work surface (C), the pointed end (108) of the fastener (100), the fastener support portion of the tool (10), the firing pin (44) and the shape of the receptacle end (104) of the fastener (100) serve to detonate the power charge (118) and drive the fastener (100) into the work surface (C).

L'invention concerne un outil (10) directement appliqué sur la surface de travail et un système permettant d'envoyer une attache propulsée (100) dans une surface de travail cible (c). Ledit outil (10) comporte un percuteur (44) à va-et-vient servant à faire exploser une charge (118) de propulsion dans une attache propulsée (100) présentant une extrémité (104) faisant office de réceptacle dans lequel est placé une charge de nitrocellulose (118). Cette extrémité (104) présente une partie cylindrique (114) et une partie conique (112). La coopération de la surface de travail cible (C), de l'extrémité pointue (108) de l'attache (100), de la partie de support d'attache de l'outil (10), du percuteur (44) ainsi que de la forme de l'extrémité réceptacle (104) de l'attache (100) permettent de faire exploser la charge de propulsion (118) et d'envoyer l'attache (100) dans ladite surface de travail cible (C).
