A probe (1) capable of penetrating and moving in a mass of material and comprising: a body, a front striking zone (3) and/or a rear striking zone (4) at axially opposite ends, to transmit pulses to said body, a striker piston (2), drive means for actuating said striker piston (2) to project it against a striking zone (3, 4) integral with the body, and a compressed air supply means for feeding the drive means, characterized by the fact that friction of the body, and any guide elements rigidly attached to the said body, in a powdered material is situated between a lower value f which is insufficient to hold the probe on recoil of the striker piston (2) and an upper value F preventing the probe from advancing under impact of the striker piston (2) on the striking zone (3, 4) so as to enable the probe to advance into the powdered material.
- 24 - A B R E G E Sonde pour pénétrer et se déplacer notamment dans une masse de matière pulvérulente. L'invention est relative à une sonde (1) apte à pénétrer et se déplacer dans une masse de matière comportant : - une enceinte, - une zone de frappe avant (3) et/ou une zone de frappe arrière (4) axialement opposées, pour transmettre des impulsions à ladite enceinte, - un piston frappeur (2) et, - des moyens moteurs pour la mise en mouvement dudit piston frappeur (2) de façon à le projeter contre une zone de frappe (3,4) solidaire de l'enceinte, des moyens d'alimentation en air comprimé alimentant les moyens moteurs, caractérisée par le fait que les frottements de l'enceinte et d'éventuels éléments de guidage rigidement liés à ladite enceinte dans une matière pulvérulente sont compris entre une valeur inférieure f insuffisante pour assurer le maintien de la sonde lors du recul du piston frappeur (2) et une valeur supérieure F empêchant l'avancement de la sonde lors du choc du piston frappeur (2) sur la zone de frappe (3,4) de façon à permettre l'avancement de la sonde dans de la matière pulvérulente.
