A method and apparatus for the mining of material from a seam includes a mining apparatus and a self-propelled conveyor capable of advancing or retreating in the seam on its own power and an advancing and steering arrangement for the mining apparatus. The self-propelled conveyor, electric cables and other services for the mining apparatus are protected against roof falls. The power input for the self-propelled conveyor is provided by continuous drive shafts powered at either one or both ends of the conveyor. Alternately, a unique reciprocating conveyor mechanically powered at either one or both ends of the conveyor is provided for conveying of aggregate material. An apparatus for assembling the conveyor and receiving aggregate material is provided at the rear end of the conveyor. A method and apparatus for accurately and precisely navigating the mining machine is disclosed.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil conçus pour l'extraction de matériaux d'une couche. Il s'agit d'un appareil d'extraction et d'un transporteur auto-propulsé pouvant avancer et se retirer dans la couche par sa propre puissance, et d'un dispositif conçu pour avancer et guider l'appareil d'extraction. Le transporteur auto-propulsé, les câbles électriques et autres services de l'appareil d'extraction sont protégés contre des éboulements. L'alimentation du transporteur auto-propulsé est assurée par des arbres de transmission en continu alimentés à l'une ou l'autre extrémité dudit transporteur. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, un transporteur à va et vient unique permet de transporter des agrégats de matériau. Le transporteur est équipé, à l'arrière, d'un appareil de montage du transporteur et de réception d'agrégats de matériau. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé et un appareil conçus pour guider avec précision et exactitude la machine d'extraction.
