An adsorbent unit (10a) including a porous container (59), adsorbent (67) in the container (59), at least one tab (60) extending outwardly from the container (59), side edges on the tab, and concave indentations (72, 73) in the side edges. The tab (60) can have an aperture (77) therein for mounting the tab (60) on the filter body (53) of a return bend (49) of an accumulator (33). Another embodiment of the adsorbent unit (10) can include two tabs (14, 15) extending outwardly from the opposite ends of the container (59), rigid outer ends (24, 24') on the tabs (14, 15), and concave indentations (26, 28; 26', 28') in the sides of the tabs (14, 15) between the outer ends of the tabs and the adsorbent container (59). In use, the concave indentations of the various tabs receive the spaced pipes (47, 50) of a return bend pipe (40) utilized in a refrigerant accumulator (33).
