A sheet article includes a porous matrix or membrane comprising separators for radioactive species and scintillators which emit light in response to radioactive emissions from the species. The sheet article is useful in a method to detect and quantify the radioactive species. The method comprises the steps of contacting a fluid comprising a radioactive species through or by a porous matrix or membrane or exposing such a membrane containing the scintillator to the fluid, allowing the radioactive species in the fluid to be passively sorbed by the membrane comprising: 1) separators which sorb or react with said radioactive species, and 2) scintillators which emit light in response to said radioactive emissions, and detecting and quantifying the emitted light.
L'article en feuille de l'invention inclut une matrice ou une membrane poreuse comprenant des séparateurs pour des espèces radioactives et des scintillateurs qui émettent de la lumière en réponse à des émissions radioactives provenant desdites espèces. Cet article en feuille est utile dans un procédé destiné à détecter et quantifier les espèces radioactives. Le procédé consiste à mettre un fluide contenant une espèce radioactive au contact d'une matrice ou d'une membrane poreuse ou à exposer au fluide une telle membrane contenant le scintillateur, à permettre l'adsoprtion passive de l'espèce radioactive dans le fluide par la membrane, laquelle comprend 1) des séparateurs qui adsorbent ladite espèce radioactive ou réagissent en leur présence, et 2) des scintillateurs qui émettent de la lumière en réponse auxdites émissions radioactives. Le procédé consiste ensuite à détecter et quantifier la lumière émise.
