A water trap (1) is suitable for use in a mechanical ventilation circuit. The water trap (1) has an inlet (11) and an outlet (12) in fluid communication. A fluid collection vessel (40) is connected by valve means (20, 30). The fluid collection vessel (40) is releasable from the rest of the water trap and is operably linked to the valve means (20, 30) such that removal of the fluid collection vessel (40) causes the valve means (20, 30) to close and engagement of the fluid collection vessel (40) with the rest of the water trap causes the valve means (20, 30) to open.

L'invention concerne un séparateur d'eau (1) destiné à être utilisé dans un circuit de ventilation mécanique, ayant une entrée (11) et une sortie (12) permettant une communication de fluide. Un récipient collecteur de fluide (40) est connecté à un système de vanne (20, 30). Ce récipient (40) est monté amovible par rapport au reste du séparateur et est en liaison coopérante avec le système de vanne (20, 30), de telle façon qu'en retirant le récipient collecteur de fluide (40) il y ait fermeture du système de vanne (20, 30), et qu'en connectant ledit récipient (40) avec le reste du séparateur d'eau, il y ait ouverture dudit système de vanne (20, 30).
