The present invention refers to self-service sales counters used in commercial establishments that allow the customers themselves to check out their purchases and make the corresponding payment without requiring the intervention of an attendant, said sales counters comprising a first (20) and a second (30) self-checkout stations, placed in parallel to one another along a full-length partition (61), said sales counters comprising a first commercial automation module (63) associated to the first self-checkout station (20), a second commercial automation module (64) associated to the second self-checkout station (30) and a banking automation module (65) shared by both stations, wherein the control of each of said modules is performed by a specific independent program. The method for conducting transactions comprises the identification of each item of merchandise (41) by means of scanning of its respective identification code as well as weighing the item by means of a bioptical scanning scale (40), checking the authenticity thereof (45) by comparing this weight with the weight of the identified item as stored in a memory means, and checking the weight of the items of merchandise placed on a packaging platform or counter against the sum total of the weights of the already identified items (47). A hand-held barcode scanner (56) is used to identify bulky items, in which case no weight checking is performed. A list of already processed items is shown in a display, and the user may eliminate any items from said list if so wished.
La présente invention fait référence à des compteurs de vente en libre-service utilisés dans des établissements commerciaux qui permettent aux clients eux-mêmes de régler leurs achats et de réaliser le paiement correspondant sans demander l'intervention d'un préposé, lesdits compteurs de vente comprenant des premier (20) et second (30) postes de caisses de règlement individuel, placés en parallèle l'un par rapport à l'autre le long d'une séparation sur toute la longueur (61), lesdits compteurs de vente comprenant un premier module d'automatisation commerciale (63) associé au premier poste de caisse de règlement individuel (20), un second module d'automatisation commerciale (64) associé au second poste de caisse de règlement individuel (30) et un module d'automatisation d'opération bancaire (65) partagé par les deux postes, où la commande de chacun desdits modules est effectuée par un programme indépendant spécifique. Le procédé consistant à conduire des transactions comprend l'identification de chaque article de marchandise (41) au moyen d'un balayage de son code d'identification respectif de même que le pesage de l'article au moyen d'une échelle de balayage bi-optique (40) qui contrôle l'authenticité de celui-ci (45) en comparant son poids au poids de l'article identifié tel qu'il est mémorisé dans un moyen de mémoire, et en contrôlant le poids des articles de marchandises placés sur une plate-forme de conditionnement, ou compteur, par rapport au total de la somme des poids des articles déjà identifiés (47). Un dispositif de balayage de codes à barres portatif (56) est utilisé pour identifier des articles volumineux, auquel cas aucun contrôle de poids n'est effectué. Une liste de d'articles déjà traités est représentée sur un afficheur et l'utilisateur peut éliminer tout article de ladite liste s'il le souhaite.
