TITLE: SELF-SUPPORTING AND COLLAPSIBLE HAMMOCK STAND ABSTRACT This invention pertains to a hammock apparatus comprised of two main components. The first component is a self-supporting and collapsible hammock stand. The hammock stand can be quickly and easily collapsed to a compact configuration for storage and transportation. The hammock stand can be quickly and easily unfolded to an extended self-supporting structure that is stable enough to carry a hammock bed which in turn carries some maximum weight. The second component of the hammock apparatus is the hammock bed. The hammock bed is held up by the hammock stand at two connection points, one point at each end of the hammock stand. The hammock bed can be rolled up into a compact configuration. The compactness of the hammock bed and collapsed hammock stand makes the hammock apparatus portable and requires little space for storage.
