ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A household film product is described in the form of a dispensable, self-supported roll or tube of lightly self-adhered, wound layers of relatively limp, thin plastic film provided without the aid of a stiff, supporting core. Self-supported film rolls through intimate layer to layer contact and self-adhesion, behave generally as a solid or unitary tube structure having side crush resistance values surprisingly close to paper supporting cores. The self-supported roll or tube, in addition, is not adversely affected by high temperature warehouse storage environments, which has been a past severe problem with respect to certain core supported films, and may be economically recycled in the case of defective or damaged rolls.
