ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE SELF-SUPPORTING SHEET-LIKE ARTICLE WITH SUPERIOR ANTISTATIC CHARACTERISTICS A self-supporting sheet-like article is described which is comprised of a substrate layer and an antistatic coat- ing applied to at least one surface of the substrate layer. The antistatic coating is produced by the treat- ment of at least one surface of the substrate layer with an electrical corona discharge which runs between a live electrode and a counter electrode. Simultaneously, i.e. during the corona discharge, an aerosol is introduced into the corona discharge area, which aerosol contains an antistatic agent. Furthermore, a procedure for the pro- duction of a self-supporting sheet-like article with an antistatic coating as well as a firmly adhering antista- tic coating on a polymer substrate are described.
