ABSTRACT SELF-SUSPENDED HIGH OVERVOLTAGE RESONATOR The instant invention is related to a piezo-electric resonator having an elevated overvoltage coefficient and comprising a base (20) provided with legs (12,13,14) for holding a sheet of piezo-electric material coated with an electrode (2) on each one of its faces, said electrode being obtained by depositing a metallisation coating or layer and being electrically connected to a conductive post (12) extending through the base. According to the invention the piezo-electric sheet comprises at the periphery of its active zone (1) a plurality of slits surrounding said active zone and defining a crown extending around the same. This crown is connected to siad active zone by a plurality of bridges (4,6,7) made of piezo-electric material, in such a manner that mechanical decoupling is achieved between the active portion (1) of the sheet and the peripheral crown (5) to which said holding posts (12,13,14) are affixed. 12
