A described embodiment of the present invention includes a self terminating coaxial cable connector having: a conductive casing having an opening through the conductive casing, the opening having a first end; an insulating sleeve inserted in the opening; a conductive spring connected to a terminal; an insulative plug in the first end, the insulative plug having a central opening for receiving the central conductor of a coaxial cable at the first end; a first plate conductively connected to the conductive spring; and a resistive element at the first end conductively connected to the conductive casing and positioned such that the conductive spring holds the first plate in contact with the resistive element when the cable is not connected to the self terminating coaxial cable connector and the central conductor of cable separates the first plate and the resistive element when the cable is connected to the self terminating coaxial cable connector.
Un mode de réalisation de la présente invention concerne un connecteur de câble coaxial à raccordement automatique comprenant : un boîtier conducteur qui présente un orifice traversant ledit boîtier et comprenant une première extrémité; une gaine isolante qui est introduite dans ledit orifice; un ressort conducteur qui est connecté à un terminal; une prise isolante qui est située dans la première extrémité et qui présente un orifice central permettant de recevoir le conducteur central d'un câble coaxial à la première extrémité; une première plaque qui est connectée de façon conductrice au ressort conducteur; et un élément de résistance qui est situé à la première extrémité, est connecté de façon conductrice au boîtier conducteur et est monté de façon que le ressort conducteur maintient la première plaque en contact avec l'élément de résistance lorsque le câble n'est pas connecté au connecteur de câble coaxial à raccordement automatique et le conducteur central du câble sépare la première plaque et l'élément de résistance lorsque le câble est connecté au connecteur de câble coaxial à raccordement automatique.
