Methods and apparatus (Fig. 1) are provided for printing and validating a document, such as a ticket or voucher printed on a substrate such as paper. After the document is printed (12), at least a portion thereof is read to test a validity criteria (14 and 16). The document is dispensed to a recipient if the validity criteria is met (52). If the validity criteria is not met after the first read, the document can optionally be re-read (18 and 20). If the validity criteria is never met, the document is voided (26). The voided document is then dispensed to the recipient (28) and a replacement document is immediately printed (30), read for validation purposes (32 and 34) and dispensed (52). If the replacement document is not valid, it is voided prior to dispensing (44 and 46). Assistance from a machine attendant is required only in the event that a predetermined number of invalid/read/validate cycles occur (48 and 50).
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil (Figure 1) permettant d'imprimer et de valider un document, tel qu'un ticket ou un bon imprimé sur un substrat tel que du papier. Une fois le document imprimé (12), au moins une partie dudit document est lue pour tester un critère de validité (14, 16). Le document est distribué à un destinataire si le critère de validité est satisfait (52). Si le critère de validité n'est pas satisfait après la première lecture, le document peut éventuellement être relu (18, 20). Si le critère de validité n'est jamais satisfait, le document est annulé (26). Le document annulé est ensuite distribué au destinataire (28) et un document de remplacement est immédiatement imprimé (30), lu dans un but de validation (32, 34) et distribué (52). Si le document de remplacement n'est pas valide, il est annulé avant d'être distribué (44, 46). L'assistance du technicien de la machine est exigée uniquement dans le cas où un nombre prédéterminé de cycles d'invalidation/de lecture/de validation se produit (48, 50).
