A self-wrapping, textile sleeve for routing and protecting elongate members from exposure to abrasion, thermal and other environmental conditions and method on construction thereof. The sleeve has an elongate wall constructed from inter-laced yarns having interstices between adjacent yarns. At least one of the yarns is heat formed at one temperature to form the wall as a self-wrapping wall curling about a longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The wall has an inner surface providing a generally tubular cavity in which the elongate members are received. The wall also has an outer surface with a cured layer thereon. The cured layer is cured at the one temperature at which the yarns are heat formed into their self-wrapping configuration, wherein the cured layer fills the interstices between adjunct yarns to form an impervious layer on the wall.
La présente invention se rapporte à un manchon textile à enroulement automatique servant à acheminer des éléments allongés et à les empêcher dêtre exposés à des conditions abrasives, thermiques et autres conditions environnementales ainsi quà un procédé de construction correspondant. Le manchon comporte une paroi allongée construite à partir de fils entrelacés présentant des interstices entre des fils adjacents. Au moins un des fils est formé à chaud à une température pour former la paroi en tant que paroi à enroulement automatique se gondolant autour dun axe longitudinal du manchon. La paroi comporte une surface intérieure offrant une cavité tubulaire globalement tubulaire dans laquelle sont reçus les éléments allongés. La paroi comporte également une surface extérieure sur laquelle se trouve une couche séchée. La couche séchée est séchée à une température à laquelle les fils sont formés à chaud dans leur configuration à enroulement automatique, la couche séchée remplissant les interstices entre les fils adjoints afin de former une couche imperméable sur la paroi.
