ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a packaging means for a bath- tub or similar items which items have two ends. The packaging means comprises two end caps, one of each for mounting on a re- spective end of the item. A wraparound portion encompasses the item, the wraparound portion being fixed, at respective edges thereof, to a respective one of the end caps. The end caps are box-like in shape and have four side walls, and respective por- tions of the edges of the wraparound portions are fixed to re- spective side walls so that the wraparound portion comprises the side walls of the packaging means which is box-like in shape. The invention also relates to an apparatus for assembling the packaging means around the item and for packaging the item in the packaging means.
