26 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure relates to the semi-continuous fermentation of a carbonated source for the manufacture of a biological mixture based on propionic acid according to a process that can be applied on an industrial scale. The discloseddevice advantageously comprises a fermentation container with two external loopsfor the circulation of the fermented substrate: one loop for the stirring of thefermented substrate carrying out a removal of said fermented substrate from saidfermentation container and a reintroduction of said fermented substrate into said fermentation container, and one loop for the extraction of said manufactured propionic acid based biological mixture, including a module for the separation of the manufactured biological mixture from the bacteria. The method implemented is of the semi-continuous type, formed by a succession of fermentation/extraction cycles with integral recycling of the biomass, then partial recycling after the obtaining of a predetermined concentration in biomass.
