IMPROVED SEMI-FLOATING BEARING ABSTRACT An improved floating bearing for turbo chargers and similar high speed rotating machinery is axially restrained by the interposition of a spring washer between the flange on the floating bearing and a seal plate attached to the housing that carries the bearing and a shaft rotatable there- in. The spring biasing means is configured as an annular washer having openings therethrough, preferably in the outer perimeter thereof, to increase the flexibility of the washer. The interior portion of the washer acts against the flange of the floating bearing while the exterior portion of the washer is held relative to the housing in radial displacement from the bearing flange.
